GKN is enabling a global audience to keep up with the action across Formula Student 2016 at Silverstone this week by livestreaming the event. The livestream is available via www.gknformulastudent.com and YouTube from 2pm on Thursday 14 July, and will be broadcast from 10am to 6pm until Sunday 17 July. GKN has a long running relationship with Formula Student, dating back to 1997, and is hosting a stand at the event again this year. Over 120 Formula Student (FS) teams around the world have already received their free driveshaft kits from global engineering group GKN. As the world’s leading manufacturer of CV joint driveshafts, GKN launched the offer of free drives shafts in December 2016.

The car is evaluated in automotive design and performance through a series of static and dynamic events which focus on safety, manufacturability and of course out Formula Student's sponsors, GKN, will be bringing a selection of cutting-edge vehicles to this year's competition. Four engineers will depart from GKN’s Technology Development Centre in Lohmar on 7 July for the trip across the continent to the home of British motorsport, Silverstone, where Formula Student 2015 kicks off on 8 July. Formula Student involves roughly 150 Universities all working in small teams to build a small race car. That vehicle is then put to the test in a series of events over three days.
